What is SnapPay?

SnapPay is device financing plan that allows customers in Sri Lanka to purchase Samsung smartphones by paying only 30% of the total cost upfront. The remaining balance can be paid in easy monthly installments over a period of up to 18 months, in collaboration with Fintrex Finance Company.

What are the documents required?
  • A copy of your National Identity Card (NIC).
  • Phone Bills Any Network (Dialog, Mobitel, Hutch, Airtel)
    Last 6 Months (For Postpaid Connections)
    Last 3 Months (For Prepaid Connections)
How many months can I choose to pay off the balance?

You can choose to pay off the balance in up to 18 months.

Are there any additional charges?

You will need to pay an extra Rs. 2,150/- as document charges when you sign up for the Samsung smartphone financing plan. These charges cover the processing and administrative costs associated with setting up your financing agreement with Fintrex Finance Company.

What happens if I miss an installment payment?

If you miss an installment payment, the Samsung smartphone will be automatically locked. You will not be able to use the device until the overdue installment amount is paid. Once you make the payment, the device will be unlocked and you can resume using it as normal.

What is the Device Blocking feature?

SnapPay Devices come equipped with a “Device Blocking feature.”
It is a remote device management tool for devices on installment plans. Since all devices are bought under SnapPay’s monthly loan installment plan, this security feature is activated on all devices. If a customer fails to repay the loan, SnapPay can use this feature to block the device. Once the customer clears the outstanding amount, the device will be unlocked.

Furthermore, the “Device Blocking feature” also offers the following functions.

Device Locking

In cases of overdue loan payments, the purchased device can be locked until we receive payment from the customer. 

Late Payment Notifications

When loan payments are overdue, payment reminders in the form of notifications will be sent to the purchased device.

Enrollment Alerts

A message will appear on the device during initial enrollment and whenever there is a SIM card change. This message will be displayed each time the device is restarted or when a SIM card change occurs.

Automatic Offline Device Locks

In cases where customers have not made installment payments despite reminders, and if they turn off their device’s data to avoid repayment, an offline device lock will activate. This lock will remain in place until the repayment is completed. This action is taken when customers avoid network connection to evade payment, rendering the device untrackable due to the lack of updates from the server.

Blinking Payment Alerts

If an overdue payment notification doesn’t prompt immediate payment, a periodic blinking payment reminder will be sent to the purchased device as an escalated reminder. This blinking notification persists until the customer settles the overdue notifications mentioned earlier and makes the payment.

SIM Lock Management

SIM cards can be set up to limit certain functionalities and/or lock the device as needed.
